2015 Lexus RC 350 Redesign and Engine
In their efforts to fuse innovations and attractive design with the tradition of reliability and quality, Lexus have announced their new model RC 350 which is based on the IS Sedan line. Of course, the fact that it’s based on this model doesn’t mean it’s the same thing. 2015 Lexus RC 350 is beautifully-looking two-door sport coupe and also a stand-alone model, completely different from IS and GS lines, while just taking some ideas from them and upgrading them.
2015 Lexus RC 350 Exterior
Deeply contoured lines, with the lowest and widest spindle grille in the Lexus line, RC 350 is a car which brings a lot in its category. New dimensions make it lower, wider and shorter in wheelbase when compared to the new IS sedan, making it even more stable and agile. Headlamp design retains the Lexus L-shaped motif on both rear and front lights, and you can also choose between five-spoke 18-inch and 10-spoke 19-inch aluminum wheels. The rear side of RC 350 is adorned with two vertically stacked vents at both sides which accentuate a pair of squared-off exhaust finishers.
Many contrasting materials, lighting and colors are used in the interior design of RC 350, with illumination which reflects upwards thus enveloping the cabin. As a highlight of elegance, there are also layered wood sections which serve to emphasize the trim surrounding them. In the upper zone of the cockpit you can find the instrument panel and a large seven-inch screen with navigation and Remote Touch Interface. Seats are designed with integrated foaming construction method, as can usually be seen in racing cars and their seats for ultimate support and comfort.
The newest 2015 Lexus RC 350 will use the 3.5-liter V6 gas engine with 314 HP and torque of 280 lb.-ft. In order to increase fuel economy as well as power delivery there will be an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift with transmission adapted from the IS F sedan. There are no further information regarding the performance at road tests as well as no confirmed 0-60 times, only an estimate of 5.5 seconds needed to attain the speed of 60 mph.
