2016 Honda Pilot exterior
The birth of a new car also means shedding the old boxy look and substituting it with a much more contemporary one. The exterior design of the newly formed 2016 Honda Pilot is a joy to behold and is much more modern looking with sporty exterior features, modern styling and an overall attractive look. It is clear that the styling was based on the CR-V design and it is something that actually looks pretty good for the new 2016 Pilot vehicle.
The front end has been completely redesigned, with the new grille and headlamps which have been added for the new vehicle. The grille actually has three horizontal chrome slats with an upper blade that extends towards the headlamps. Although the similarities with the CR-V are great, but it is only with the shape of the vehicle, the other parts are all Honda designed.
At the back we will notice perhaps the greatest change of the vehicle compared with the previous model. The back side of the car is clean and fresh looking, particularly the new fascia. The sportier design is much more enhanced with the sloped roofline and the redesigned tailgates. Also consider the new exclusive features which the Pilot received that include LED headlight technology with high beams and 20-inch wheels as well.
The overhaul continues within the inside of the 2016 Honda Pilot. The vehicle is much more contemporary looking and although the inside also comes with its similarities with the CR-V, there is still a lot which has been added to the design of the inside of the vehicle. The most noticeable thing is the dash which is much more modern looking and has a new premium design now. The former user cluster is replaced with a digital one which is much more user friendly and better looking than before.
But perhaps the only fault with the Pilot is that it does not come with many standard features, with the exception of Led map lightning and soft-touch materials. There are some exclusive features and amenities that car has been equipped with but the majority are only available with higher trims. These include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, ventilated front seats and also an option of replacing the second-row seat with two captain’s chairs that provide extra comfort.
The mentioned technological upgrade which is featured inside includes a 8-inch touchscreen which has an Android operated system, Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation, a 9-inch rear entertainment system with DVD and Blu-Ray and many more mouthwatering goodies that the car has been stacked with.
Under the hood of the 2016 Honda Pilot, we may find an already familiar face with Honda and that is the 3.5-liter V6 engine. It is enhanced with some features like the stop/start ignition system or the cylinder deactivation technology as well. The old version has greatly benefited with a five-speed automatic transmission, but this time the vehicle is going to use a six-speed autobox. Additional news say that as an extra feature, people will also get to include a an optional nine-speed auto as well which is a first time for any Honda vehicle. The specifications say that the vehicle is going to be able to muster at least 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque.
Price and release date
The official release date is yet to be announced but we are expecting that information to emerge pretty soon. We expect the new 2016 Honda Pilot to be released sometimes at the end of 2015 or the beginning of next year. The price is also not officially been announced but as the price tag of the last model included $29,870 it is safe to assume that the new one will be priced around $31,000.
