Firstly produced in 2008, the Hyundai i20 was released as a great vehicle which promised reliable performance, reasonable fuel consumption and generally an all-around vehicle for its brand. Now the i20 gets a makeover and the 2015 version promises to give you more than before. The 2015 Hyundai i20 will be given a tune up and the vehicle will be given a new look with a technological upgrade as well. The most noticeable thing which will be revised is the interior space of the car which will now be more roomier and offer more comfort, as it was perhaps the single drawback of the older models of this vehicle. The people from Hyundai feel that the high tech design of the car will bolster its popularity and make it more attainable than it ever was.
2015 Hyundai i20 Exterior
The 2015 Hyundai i20 will be designed in the all new Fluidic v2.0 design theme and will bare less resemblance to the old vehicle. The new design of the car will certainly upgrade both the looks and the popularity of the vehicle. The revised design has made the car look more sportier and more modern, which is basically done by the addition of flared wheel arches, making the car lean forward a bit and giving it this brand new and modern look. Introduced are also the new front grille and the LED daytime front lights, perfectly positioned in the front part of the car which actually give an impression which make the car look a bit bigger than it actually is. Also, the car is now a lot more aerodynamic which will ultimately affect the fuel economy and CO2 emission of the car making its gas consumption a lot more cost-effective.
The greatest and the immediate change one sees in the design of the interior of the 2015 Hyundai i20 is the more space provided within this new vehicle. the manufacturers report that now the car has more than enough space to fit in five adults more enough leg space for all of them making their ride in this new Hyundai vehicle a more pleasant one. The car is now 4 cm longer and 2.4 cm wider, but is a 1.6 cm lower than the older model.
But the wheelbase has been lengthen for an entire 4.5 cm which is the sole feature which has provided the extra space for the inside of the car. Also the tech has been upgraded and the car has a reversing camera, which can be viewed on the 7-inch information screen on the dashboard, Bluetooth connectivity and a sat nav system. Also this is going to be the first car which will include a large panoramic opening sunroof, as the older ones had roofs which did not open.
The thing which has not been changed actually are the engine trims which are used for the 2015 Hyundai i20. The car will feature the same engines used with the previous cars. The i20 will feature a Hyundai’s 1.25-litre petrol engine both 74bhp and 83bhp versions and with the addition of a six-speed gearbox. In the mix is also an option of a 1.4-litre petrol engine which produces 99 bhp, but it is not sure if it will come with a six-speed or a four-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, there are two diesel options available, the 1.1-litre producing 89bhp, and a 1.4-litre which can achieve 0-62mph in 12.1 seconds. Both of these engines are low CO2 producing engines only emitting less than 100g/km of CO2.
The 2015 Hyundai i20 premiered on the last Paris Motor Show and its sail is set to go out shortly after it, so expect it to come up soon. Also a slight increase in the price opposed to the previous model is given so expect the new i20 to cost around £10,995 for the 1.2-litre petrol and £13,540 for the 1.4-litre diesel.
