The new 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid bares very little resemblance to its first form which release date was back in 1985. During the years the car has been remodeled and restyled and the first thing that comes noticeable is the size of the vehicle.
The car became a mid-size SUV by developing from a compact car, it also regrew into an SUV crossover afterwards which is the basis for the contemporary Pathfinder.
The introduction of the Hybrid version was a great move as everyone likes to have a fuel-economy vehicle and there have been many interest from the general public when this line was produced. The hybrid version has attracted a lot of fans to the Pathfinder brand and the new 2015 version promises to do that as well.
As seen from the pictures the care is in a pretty good shape and offers a lot of innovations on its part. It now holds a bit sturdier lineup and a great new look to boast the fuel efficient characteristics that a Hybrid vehicle has.
2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid Exterior
What has happened to the exterior of the new 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid is that they have evolved opposed to the previous and older models. The boxer shape has been made redundant as the car now incorporates a new much smoother and curvier shape. This has enabled the Pathfinder to become a contemporary and modern vehicle.
The front of the vehicle now includes a V-motion front which is combined with some angular shaped headlights. This can actually be found in most of the Japanese design vehicle and has become its trademark for years now.
Up front have also been added some swept back windshields, which offer enhanced visibility, and at the back the same effect has been made suing the roof pillars. The tailgate is very large and has been redesigned as well and also includes some cut trapezoid tail-lights which have been backed up with a roofline spoiler and some regular-sized windows in addition.
The interior of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid can best be described as being spacious and luxurious. The inside has been remodeled in a great way and the result is a great car which can fit up to seven people and all of them will have enough room to ride it. The spacious interior allows both the driver and the passengers to feel every inch of comfort this vehicle has been endowed with.
The only exception is the entry-level SV vehicle, while all other hybrid models come with leather seating. The same models also have an extra feature which the aforementioned trim has been excluded from and that is seat heating which more than greatly enhances the comfort of the vehicle. Inside the SL Premium models, the back seat get the heating installed while the wood grain accents are some of the aesthetic features that were also included for the interior of the new Pathfinder.
The instrument panel has been quite nicely designed and has wood tones gracing it with the addition of a Flat-top das instrument panel. 7-inch QVGA color monitor. Certain trims will get to have a upgraded version of this system which includes voice recognition and upgraded navigation systems as well.
Engine of 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid
2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid has a total of five trim levels available, and they include SV, the SL, the SL Platinum, the SL Premium and the Platinum Premium. But interestingly they will all get to be equipped with the very same engine.
The supercharged 2.5L 4-cylinder engine will be fitted inside the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid all trim levels and our thoughts are that this comes as a very good idea. The engine is able to produce 230 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough for this type of a vehicle. The electronic part of the engine includes a 15 kW electric motor which has a power of 250 horses.
But there is a downfall to the electric motor as its size and lithium-ion battery pack used do not allow the car to run only on its electronic part. Also bear in mind that all of the mentioned trims come with a front wheel drive while all-wheel drive comes as optional. Also, all of the Pathfinder Hybrids have a 25 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway fuel efficiency rating.
Price and Release Date
We expect 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid to be released in the third quarter of this year. However, there is already a model for 2016, so maybe you should consider it?
As we are yet to receive the final information on the exact release date, we will have to wait for it a bit more to be released.
The price on the other hand is available to us now and comes down to $35,000 for the base model while the higher trims will be priced at $45,000, which does not actually include optional equipment, so be sure to add a few hundreds more on that as well.
