ebuting at the latest Beijing Auto Show, the new 2015 Volkswagen Golf R400 Concept was a car that immediately showed promise and its impeccable design and under the hood performance made it an immediate contender for production. The great concept was introduced to represent the right future coming for the German automaker, and the car is expected to hit production really soon and people are eagerly awaiting the release date any day now. The thing that took the public by storm is the overcharged performance of the engine if this vehicle. The car packs quite a punch and is one of the strongest and fastest Golf cars ever made. Also the design is somewhat of an eye catcher as many people thought it as being as one of the best ones made by the automakers from Wolfsburg.
2015 Volkswagen Golf R400 Concept Exterior
The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R400 Concept features a new sleeker and meaner look. It really looks like it has something to hide, but the only thing that it does hide is greatness. The entire exterior design is actually based on the Volkswagen’s Golf R model with major enhancements added. The car is also 20mm wider at all side. Of course the Golf R model is just a basis for the vehicle’s design and includes some very innovative add-ons which make this vehicle great. The thing that gives the R400 its mean look has to be the redesigned two-tone bumper at the front of the car.
Also included is the gloss black grille and carbon fiber splitter at the front. Also, stretching across the whole car is a horizontal yellow line which goes from the front headlamp and connects all the way back to the back light. The flared wheel arches are actually a homage to one legendary Golf model which is the limited edition Rallye Golf G60 which inspired this add-on. The back includes a new diffuser with classy grey accents, with a totally reshaped back bumper and all new vents included as well.
Surprisingly the interior is not that changed compared to the Golf R model. Being that the outside of the car has been greatly changed and presented one of the finer examples of modern car making, Volkswagen has decided to keep the interior changes to a minimum. You will experience almost the same look from the Golf R400 model as you saw in its predecessor.
The only thing which was added to make this car stand out compared to the previous model are the new seats. The Golf R400 concept car has motorsport shell seats which include integrated head restraints and belt openings. The seats are completely wrapped in Alcantara leather and include yellow stitching on the sides as well as a “R” embroidery on the head rest. The dahs, the wheel and the steering wheel have also suffered a mild change which includes the same yellow stitching as the seats do.
Engine of Volkswagen Golf R400
The most exciting part about this car has to be its engine. The engine has certainly enhanced the muscle tone of the new Volkswagen model which has made this one of the most beefed car of the year. The makers managed to squeeze in 395 horsepower 332 pound-feet of torque under the hood of the new 2015 Volkswagen Golf R400 Concept. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is the main protagonist which manages to enable the high performance of this car. The additional inclusions which provide better performances out of the engine a water-cooled exhaust gas feed and valve control with dual camshaft adjustment. The gearbox includes a six-speed DSG transmission. All of this enables the new Volkswagen vehicle to speed up from 0 to 62 mph in an amazing 3.9 seconds.
