Another Ford’s F-series has been scheduled for a release. Although it will not get any major improvements but rather smaller ones and it will not look significantly different than the last year’s version. The vehicle in question is a 2016 Ford F-250, a full size pickup truck, highly praised on the U.S territory.
One thing implemented in almost all heavy weight vehicles is military grade first class aluminum. That will lower the weight and by that improve general performance and fuel efficiency of those vehicles. This is going to be a review of 2016 Ford F-250 or more precisely, the preview of everything we can expect from the new 2016 Ford F-250 starting from its exterior and interior looks, engine specs, release date and possible price tags.
2016 Ford F-250 Exterior
Exterior doesn’t have that military look like its siblings from F-series. It is still a big vehicle but a lot more elegant. The front grille is updated and a little bit larger, headlights got new LED technology, body is going to be reworked with aluminum, bumpers are going to get new improved looks together with larger wheels and bigger capacity of the trailer. Those improvements are somehow expected from Ford, which cars are known to be large, strong and menacing “to the bone”.
2016 Ford F-250 Interior
Elegant interior is not interconnected with pickup trucks. And yet, the 2016 Ford F-250 interior got even more luxurious and modern than the previous versions. That is going to be done with the use of better materials for upholstery. Seats are going to be covered with high quality leather, and made with such technology to fit any body type.
Rest of the cabin is going to be covered with Mesa Brown leather with some wooden parts. Other details like central MyFord touch display with infotainment screen, telescopic steering wheel, Bluetooth, navigation, high-tech audio system with nine speakers, dual zone climate control (which probably has the fully independent control in the back), cruise control, etc.
2016 Ford F-250 Engine Specs
- Ford has two engine variants in lineup for 2016 Ford F-250.
- First variant is the 6.2 liter V8 petrol engine with 385 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.
- Second one is 6.7 liter PowerStroke diesel engine with 440 horsepower and 860 lb-ft of torque.
Petrol engine will be equipped with direct-injection, which will reduce the fuel consumption. 2016 Ford F-250 is going to have all new eight speed automatic transmission and six speed automatic as optional. Ford is currently working on a next generation 10 speed gearbox.
This version of pickup trucks is also called Super Duty because of their hEavy duty towing and hauling capabilities. Those are practically updated versions of company’s basic full size pickups. That is managed by the use of upgraded diesel engines used solely by this type of cars.
2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty should stay the same as on previous version and it should be approximately 14,000 pounds for conventional towing and diesel engine.
2016 Ford F-250 Release Date and Price
2016 Ford F-250 release date is expected for the middle or end of 2016. Price tag should start from 35,000 dollars and go up to 60,000 dollars for higher trim levels.
