The North American International Auto Show features some of the best and most revolutionary vehicles which are presented here every year. Among many of them, this year Lexus has also stepped up a notch and introduced their first ever supercharged vehicle. The newly introduced 2015 Lexus GS-F is a great vehicle but not as powerful as you would expect it to be.
Firstly, after the release of the IS F and the RC F coupe vehicle, Lexus has embarked on a quest of designing their first ever super sports car. The idea is actually great and the design is pretty extreme, which is expected from a super car. The new Lexus vehicle actually owes a lot of its aerodynamic style and base to the proceeding IS F and RC F vehicles, but with much weight lost opposed to them.
In fact the 2016 Lexus GS-F is lighter than most vehicles in its class, but the only downfall for it that it is not as powerful enough. Although making a great vehicle, Lexus has not managed to transfer all the energy needed in it to pass the other rivaling cars in its class. But this does not to mean anything, as it is a good start for Lexus and an updated version in the future will certainly do better with its specs.
2016 Lexus GS-F Exterior
The design of the vehicle is pretty great and fits perfectly with the type of the new 2016 Lexus GS-F vehicle. Extreme is certainly the word which can sum up everything about this car. Although owing much to the previous cars from Lexus like IS F and RC F vehicles which have borrowed certain characteristics to the GS-F supercar and with the added extreme part made it pretty suitable for this brand.
The added spindle grille to the front of the car does not only add to the extreme level of the car but adds to its aerodynamic features and enhances cooling as well, making it flow through air as sharpish as possible. Also, at the sides, there are some air outset added which were first introduced with the RC F model and was kept here because of its great efficiency.
Also, what is immediately noticeable with the vehicle is that the car is lower and wider than the predecessors it takes after. Kept are also the Lexus L-shaped front lights and with the combination of the new LED front and back lights, make up the look of the vehicle. The designers of Lexus have certainly made it from the first try when it comes to the style and design for the vehicle as it truly captures the spirit of a true sports vehicle.
What the inside is all about is an elegant form-follows-function theme. This means that the inside of the new Lexus GS-F has been designed to offer you easy reach of all the controls. Drivers will concentrate more on their driving and will be able to use all the controls on the vehicle’s dashboard with ease.
With a greatly designed F branded steering wheel with an instrument cluster which has four different levels of setting, the inside of the new Lexus is truly inspiring. Drivers can choose settings as Normal, Sport S, Sport S+ or Eco, all depending on the driving style of the person. This is all enhanced with an Alcantara interior trim which is added to the center console and the door mats of the vehicle.
The back as well as the front seats have a special addition to them. Firstly, the seats have been custom designed to provide lateral back support, which is more than great for the people riding in it and also something which adds to the luxury of the vehicle. The finishing touch is added with a 12.3” central video monitor which is controlled with the Remote Touch Interface located on the center console.
2016 Lexus GS-F Engine
Under the hood, the 2016 Lexus GS-F is no joke, as they have managed to choose a perfect engine which is for the first time used in sports supercar. The only thing is that it does not muster enough energy to surpass the contention of the rival companies. A 5.0-liter high-revving V-8 is a great addition, but needs to perform a bit better if you want the GS-F to win any races.
The car is able to produce a power of 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. The new Lexus can also achieve a start from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds, and it owes that to its power-to-weight ratio specs.
Price and Release Date
As for the pricing of this car, it can be all yours for a fair price of $66,995. Expect the new 2016 Lexus to be out of sail in the latter part of 2015, when you will be able to order it or find it with your local Lexus vehicle closes to you.
