2016 Mazda 3 Review

The 2016 Mazda 3 model is finally out and will be seen on the market this year. Being a standout vehicle in the compact market is no easy thing to do. If you cut corners it is only going to make things worse and bring your model to a downfall even if you try to make a competitive price for the buyers. Making compromises is what brought a lot of models to a which they did not plan to get to, but the Mazda 3 is not one of those.

The newest 2016 Mazda 3 version is a model that gives us a perfect style, cutting-edge interior appointments, high level safety ability and driving dynamics that are on a par with some of the best vehicle on the market. This is a cohesive package that none other models get to offer and you will get this one for a very competitive price and one which is going to be appealing for the buyers as well. The model also debuts with a variety of features, both new as well as optional and standard ones as well.

2016 Mazda 3 exterior

The Mazda 3 model was originally a vehicle which was introduced in order to replace the Protégé which was discontinued in 2003 and made way for the Mazda 3. The second generation model came just 5 years later and now being in its 3rd generation stint, the model continues to be one of the best models in its respective segment. The latest news is that the sales of Mazda vehicles in the US has overtaken the market leaving all of the competition in third rear view mirror. Read the review and see why is it so.

The 2016 Mazda 3 is going to come available in  four-door sedan and five-door hatchback body styles. The standard exterior equipment is going to add the basic amenities, the 16-inch steel wheels, and power folding side-view mirrors. Btu the optional offer expands it a bit more with 18-inch alloy wheels and adaptive HID headlights.

More changes are expected to arrive with the next release but this one is going to keep its Kodo – Soul of Motion” design language which has shaped the car in this great matter for years now. The Kodo design was introduced in 2010 for Mazda vehicles and was adopted for the Mazda6 and the Mazda CX-5 crossover model and proved as a great choice even then.

The 2016 Mazda 3 has been designed in a great way for both the hatch and sedan versions. The front end has a trapezoidal grille with chrome, there are some rounded edges to the sides which visually narrow the car and make it smoother. There is a slim lower grille and optional twin fog lights with chrome surrounds.

The hood line is long and manages to move the  the cabin and windshield pillars towards the rear axle. The cab back design is a great choice and manages to give the Mazda 3 a sporty design when looking at it from the sides. This is also made possible with the fastback roofline design.

2016 Mazda 3 rear view

The rear end of the car comes with a horizontal look that has some oval shapes used for it as it gives us a wider stance and a more balanced look that way. The trapezoidal depression in the hatch’s fifth door is also something that we need to consider here.

The interior of the 2016 Mazda 3 has a great design which is only bolstered with the expanded range of standard features that the car has. The standard offer includes a one-touch up/down function for the driver-side window while the  door locks are power operated, climate control which includes A/C and a pollen air filter, a fully adjustable steering wheel and rear seats that fold in a 60/40 split. But there are some new things that we can get excited about, a rearview backup camera which comes standard, adaptive cruise control and various available extras as well.

Mazda’s Connect system brings us the infotainment services needed for the car and they use a 7-inch color touchscreen mounted centrally on top of the dash. The model has tactile commands and you can also use it via a  rotary input located on the central tunnel. The connectivity of the model is also a big factor as you can connect your phone via Bluetooth with it.

The driver’s seat faces a large analog tachometer mounted directly behind the three-spoke wheel, which is actually a multifunction steering wheel, and there are complementary digital readouts on either side of it. You also get an Active Driving heads-up display which projects the info straight onto the windshield.

There are going to be two engine variants provided for the 2016 Mazda 3 modal. We are going to get two Skyactiv engine packages  with the 155-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder  being the first and the 184-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder  being the second option. You can pair either of the two with a six-speed manual as standard, or the optional six-speed automatic gearbox. You can get this configuration with the four-door and five-door body style of the new Mazda 3 2016. The first engine manages to give us an EPA rating of 33 mpg combines, but a 41 mpg on the highway, while the second engine has a combined 29 mpg.
