The newest 2017 BMW M6 Gran Coupe car has been rumored and is almost but confirmed. The model which is seen as perhaps the pinnacle of the BMW’s production company and the pride and joy of the German automaker is getting an update. The original M6 was regarded as a pioneer of its industry and introduced a lot to the automotive world by combining the sportiness and the performance of an M badge and has combined it with the luxury and exclusiveness of the 6 Series model from BMW.
When the M6 entered in its 3rd generation stint, we saw a vehicle with aggressive styling from front to back which also added some weight-saving characteristics which also meant better and higher performance. The upcoming model is going to be a mid-cycle update which is going to bring some new changes and features to the brand. It still uses the same 4.4-liter V-8 which it borrows form the BMW M5 and delivers over 500 hp and over 500 of torque as well. This time we get an update which is going to see some interior and exterior changes made with some new color variants as well and a 0-60 mph performance that starts the car in 4.1 seconds.
The new 2017 BMW M6 is going to benefit from the added carbon fiber roof which is going to help it shed and save on a lot of weight. Compared to the M5 sibling the M6 is 44 pounds lighter, which goes a lot in this segment. Also this year there are going to be a lot of enhancement packages offered like the Competition Package which enhances the horsepower to go beyond 600 hp and can even allow the Gran Coupe to hit the 0-60 mph mark in 3.9 seconds.

Exterior redesign and looks
The details of the new exterior of the 2017 BMW M6 Gran Coupe may be a little bit difficult to spot at first. In fact, this is a mild update so do not expect to see a lot of things changed for the car. It is going to have a fairly similar front end and the front fascia is not going to be modified a lot. The bumper s similar and the kidney grille is completely the same but the headlights have a different look to them and a certain edge added. The rear end of the car sees the same bumper and trunk lid which are carried over but the taillights have been altered.
Some fine details that one does not notice at first glance include some headlight surrounds that the car has received but also the addition of new LEDs. There is a long black strip running down below where the signals used to be and the new housings add a bit meaner look to the car. With the added Competition Package you can get the added black-chrome tailpipes and 20-inch, M light-alloy wheels.
The interior of the 2017 BMW M6 Gran Coupe are going to be kept to pretty much the same and you can expect minimal changes made. But what we do see is a revamped instrument cluster which receives some modifications made with a new “iPhone-style” Central Information Display. The comforts have been updated with the added fine material leather which is further enhanced with the new full-leather trim package. There are some contrast stitching and black-chrome accents added which complement the changes made here There are also some other color options made available which you can optionally chose for your M6 car, but it also depends on which trim level you want and you can get the added ones with the available packages as well.
Under the hood of the 2017 BMW M6 Gran Coupe are the same but actually slightly tweaked. This means that the specs have been changed a bit and that we are getting a more powerful car. With the twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V-8 modified to add more torque the car has a horsepower of 560 and 501 twists of torque added. The power comes between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm while torque stays strong between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The Gran Coupe version can hit the 0-60mph mar in 4.2 seconds with the convertible options does it in 4.3 seconds. The top speed for all versions is the same, 155 mph. But the fuel economy is a little bit different with the coupe and Gran Coupe get an estimated 23 mpg highway while the convertible makes do with 22.8 mpg highway. The Competition Package adds a total of 575 horsepower and the same 501 pound-feet of torque and uses the 20-inch wheels as standard.
