When it is said that the German manufacturing mindset is so precise, it makes no sense to refute this. The 2017 BMW X7 is another solid example of excellent craftsmanship, with attention to every single detail whilst maintaining perfect aesthetics.
With the success of the X5 and the sporty X6, the X7 will look to integrate aspects of both its predecessors. It will then add its own aspects, further weaving its own pattern into the fabric that is the extensive tapestry of BMW automobiles.
Much is still under wraps concerning the X7, with only a number of spy shots available as evidence of the exterior styling. Let’s take a look at what the Bavarian folks have to offer the automobile world this time around.
Something Interesting: 2017 BMW M5
Exterior of the 2017 BMW X7
Though this is a completely new car, the exterior design palette does not deviate too much from the concept of the X5. The more noticeable addition is the boxy design of the cabin, making it bigger so that the interior can accommodate a spacious third row.
The designers have reconstituted a bumper that will set the SUV off from others in the lineup. The iconic BMW grille is at the front for all to see and the front headlights take on an aggressive mien. Designed to be slits within the larger setup, these lights are recognizably BMW.
There is a moon roof, adding some much needed elegance and luxury to this hulk of a car. This stretches from the front at the driver’s position all the way to the rear at the tailgate. One is able to see the heavens slip by as they drive along windy and picturesque roads.
On the wheel front, the 2017 BMW X7 sports large diamond-cut wheels with 5 twin-spokes.
2017 BMW X7 Interior
On this already magnificent German beast, the interior is the crowning jewel. With a few ideas drawn in from the hugely successful X5 and the 7Series sedan, there is little to find fault with in the cabin of the X7.
Stretched and stitched across the surfaces is premium leather and alcantara fabric. The design of the seats ensures that there is ample lumbar support, making certain that those trips are completed in extreme comfort.
The aforementioned moonlight adds to the chic ambience of the interior. High grade wood paneling ensures that this picture is fitted to a T.
The dash is brimming with more evidence of German engineering. Included is BMW’s new iDrive 5.0 touch display. This also has enabled 3D sensor technology that allows the driver to use predetermined hand gestures to interface with the system without distracting from the road ahead. Borrowed from the 7 Series sedan is the Touch Command removable tablet that allows the passengers to interface with the system, controlling features such as air conditioning and music.
BMW X7 2017 Engine
A big machine like the X7 needs a capable power unit at its heart, providing the energy to move it forward at the speeds expected of brands like BMW. Under the hood, the X7 is bound to sport a 2 liter in-line 4-cylinder xDrive28i engine that has proven successful in the earlier range of the X series. This is capable of belting out 241 horsepower.
But in order to properly compete with Mercedes who have a large SUV out, BMW might resort to the 4.4 liter V8. This V8 turbocharged monster cranks out a whopping 445 horsepower and a torque of 480 pound-feet.
There is also a medium power engine with 6 cylinders. This 3.0 liter engine gives a torque of 340 pound-feet and 330 horsepower.
Whatever the company settles on; the power unit under the hood is going to be one mean machine to tug along this SUV.

BMW X7 2017 Price
Given the work that has gone into beautifying a monster, the price for the 2017 BMW X7 should fall around $70,000, with the top model going on to fetch around $80,000. This seems a good price considering the tag attached to the X6, which is just lower.
The 2017 BMW X7 is slated for release at the end of 2018 or early 2019.
