The model called 2017 Dodge Rebel was confirmed for the upcoming release. This car has been showcased as a concept model first at the Texas State Fair and with some other Dodge products was perhaps one of the coveted introductions. The piece of news that interested a lot of people was the introduction of a Hellcat V-8 engine inside the Rebel model But the power had to be dialed back a bit as it was too much for the axels to handle. Even Dodge cannot make a truck as strong as this one is. So the power output will be limited to 575 horsepower spread out to all four wheels of the car.

The truck looks great and very massive as well, particularly as it sports 37-inch Toyo Open Country MT tires that are going to be wrapped around the 18-inch beadlock wheels.  Added are also the  custom off-road racing suspension from King that include remote reservoir shocks and also combine with some beefier control arms that have a six-inch wider track.

The Dodge Rebel concept has been introduced a while back already and it was just a matter of time when we were supposed to see the car in action. There are a ton of things to explore with the car and it shows us just how the model can be great. Further on, the car is being prepared for its production and the release date is set for 2017. So let’s study a bit and read the review about this car so we know what we are going  up against.

Exterior Design for the 2017 Dodge Rebel

The 2017 Dodge Rebel has really a menacing look to it. The car will be very intimidating mainly due to its mechanics which further one accent the vehicle’s strengths and also its capability. There is an air induction system added which is combined with widened fenders with vents and cool graphics. The is a custom built storage for a spare tire and has a doubled bar so it also carries LED off-road lights and as rollover protection. There are also some custom bumpers placed on both the front and rear parts of the car which are not only functional but they also provide  a more meaner looking stance for the car.

The base version of the car has a candy-apple red and combines with black accents which further emphasizes the sinister appearance of the car. There are wider fenders which have flares and are sued to protect the paint work. There is also a specific bedrail cap system provides tie-down spots for cargo in the bed and the horizontal hoops that go with it are also a great addition. What distinguishes the car even further are teh custom graphics and the added badging which are going to distinguish the car even further from now.

The front end is pretty distinguishable with the  stock Rebel grille which has  anodized aluminum accents. There are matching accents which go around the tow hook and also LED fog lights as well. The hood has an air scoop which helps feed the V-8 engine and there is also a system for heat extraction added which helps enhance the performance of the engine.

Interior Appearance

The interior of the 2017 Dodge Rebel is a piece of art. The designers certainly had a lot of fun designing this car and making it work. You can see the same anodized aluminum trims brought on the inside as well and you can see it in gear shifts, the dash-mounted knobs, and almost everywhere around the cabin. It is also going to add the same steering wheel seen in the Dodge Viper model but this one is covered in Alcantara leather and also has red contrast stitching. The same pattern is used for the shifter boot, the suede seats and the door pull grabs. Also the the conventional dash-mounted rotary shifter design was dropped and it is going to be exchanged in favor of a more traditional console shifter. It looks great  and also allows for a lot more space to be added on the dash as well.

The seating includes  full six-point racing harnesses which you can make in four seating positions. The racing theme is also seen with the added  pull-strap door handles that replace the normal chrome units.  Just below the HVAC controls you can find the auxiliary rocker switches As the truck is going to be used for off-roading, the carpet was replaced with spray-on bedliner material which not only allows durability but also sound deadening as well. Some other useful and necessary additions include a 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment screen, a seven-inch FTF gauge cluster display, automatic dual-zone climate control and analog gauges for the driver.

Powertrain Capability

One of the most important parts that came with the announced 2017 Dodge Rebel is the addition of a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat Hemi V-8 engine. Engineers had to reduce the power from the maximum 707 horsepower 650 pound-feet and tone it down to a bit more modest rate. But nevertheless, the car still provides strong performance. With 575 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, the Rebel makes even more power than the Raptor model, for example. Combines with the drivetrain is the ZF eight-speed automatic, which is also known as the TorqueFlite 8HP70. There are also paddle shifters which provide power over manual shifting controls of the car.

Release Date and Price

As the concept model for the 2017 Dodge Rebel made its debut this year, the production version is expected to appear next year. As the name states, the truck is going to appear for the 2017 model year and we can expect it to be offered by middle or later part of the year. As for the price, current rates place it somewhere between  $29.000 and $55.000 as it still has to be confirmed.
