As is the case in the existing model, the new 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 should be expected to feature a wide range of cargo-bed/cab configurations either in 2WD or 4WD.
Starting off the list of the available trims is the base Sierra that comes standard with a 40/20/40-split fore seat, rubber floor coverings, cloth upholstery, a tilt-only steering wheel, power windows and door locks, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone air-conditioning, grille and bumpers with chrome accents, and 17” wheels.
The SLE builds upon what the base offers and adds an upgraded IntelliLink audio system, a color driver information display, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability, steering wheel with leather-clad, driver adjustable lumbar support, Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, an aftview camera, keyless entry and ignition, heated/electronic mirrors, cargo box LED lighting, an “E-Z” tailgate with lower/lift, glass tinted mirrors, and alloy wheels.
Optional features available for the above trim includes a 110V power outlet, an aft window defogger, keyless garage opener, keyless vehicle start, telescopic-and-tilt steering wheel, climate automatic control, power driver seat, side tubular steps, a grille with black surround, foglights, an aft differential locking, and unique 22” wheels.
Picking the SLT model gets you driver memory settings, premium sound system, heated 8-way driver and passenger seats, cloth upholstered cabin, climate automatic control, a 110V power outlet, a rearview auto-dimming mirror, electronic adjustable pedals, telescopic steering wheel, a aft window defroster, anti-theft warning, garage universal opener, towing package, electronic foldable mirrors, keyless starting, 18” wheels, and exterior chrome trim.
Picking the plush Denali gets you a steering heated wheel, power lumbar support, heated and ventilated fore seats, ventilated leather seats, a Bose sound system, a navigation system, a customizable display, front and rear parking assist, a rear locking differential, suspension adaptive dampers, 20” wheels, and exterior chrome trim.
Engine Specs – 2017 GMC Sierra 1500
Except the SLT and Denali, all the other trims come standard with a 4.3L V6 good for 300 hp and 315 pounds of torque. Six-speed automatic transmission and a choice of either RWD or AWD is available as standard. The maximum towing capacity stands at 7,200 pounds.
EPA stats available stand at 19/23/20 mpg in the city/highway/combined for the 2WD, and 18/21/19 mpg with the 4WD.
Good for 360 hp and 383 pounds of torque is a 5.3L V8 available for both the SLT and Denali trims. EPA stand at 15/24/19 mpg with the RWD.
Also available is an optional 6.2L V8 good for 430 hp and 460 pounds of torque. With this powerplant expect a towing capacity of a whopping 12,000 pounds.

Expect the standard model to go for sale with an MSRP starting from $27,010. As for the release date, latest rumors suggest the vehicle will probably head to U.S showrooms sometime next year.
