There is going to be a new 2017 Mustang GT500 available for the next year. As we have been able to understand Ford is preparing to refresh the old model and make it more approachable and adapted for the upcoming model year. The changes do not include anything drastically and we are bound to get the same kind of a car that we know and love but with some newly added features and design cues.

What we do know that the car is going to receive now is an independent rear suspension which is going to help the vehicle rival the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. But the car is also going to rival this one in its appearance. We are going to get a look of the Mustang that we have expected to get but there are going to be some newer panels added that are going to reshape the vehicle a bit and bring it some new aerodynamic properties and help it look a little bit more aggressive.

Another big news is that the GT standard engine is out. So we are not going to use the 5.0-liter V-8  one any more here and we are going to get a larger and updated option which is specially developed for a muscle car. The first pictures of the car were released form the Monterey Car Week expo and it tells us that we are in for a very nice product waiting for us now.

They are keeping the basis of the standard exterior of the Mustang and adding a bit more to make it meaner and aggressive looking for the 2017 Mustang GT500 design. This is perhaps the meanest design of a Mustang that we have got to see till now. The headlamps are still reminiscent of the older models while everything else has been shaped to be more aggressive than it was.

The front part of the car has been shrunken and some parts actually look a little bit stretched as they are placed on the front end. This is to reduce air drag for the car and it makes it more aerodynamic and very fast now. besides the smaller size there are many aero assortments that also enhance the aerodynamics of the car as well. There is a new splitter added and all of the air vents have been made larger so air flow is much easier and free than before adding to a better performance and overall higher specs for the car. There are even some vents to the hood as every piece of this car is made to reduce air drag.

The profile shows a new stance for the 2017 Mustang GT500 and also showcases the new lightweight 19-inch wheels that have been added. Tucked tightly tot eh wheels are some reencountered aluminum fenders which also have some inner fenders which are used to draw out air. Finally, the back part of the car has a stylish lip spoiler which adds the aerodynamic properties more and finishes the package that we get with this model.

The inside of the 2017 Mustang GT500 is going to be as sporty looking as it exterior part. The car adds a flat bottom steering wheel with some Recaro seats to boast the situation as well. The seats are specially made for track driving and are not only bolstered to be comfortable they come as specially equipped to enable the best possible experience when it comes to driving at fast paste in various kind of driving situations.

What is an important part of the design is that the dash has been decluttered by any unnecessary part which gives off light or glares. When it comes to the drivertrain, the most important changes happens under the hood of the 2017 Mustang GT500. The previously used 5.0-lter Coyote V-8 was tossed away and has been exchanged for a new and much powerful one. A  5.2-liter flat-plane crank V-8 is a legitimate racing engine and takes place instead of the previous one which is deservedly being retired. It offers 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque  at its disposal and makes the new 2017 GT500 one of the fastest and most powerful vehicles on the road. It combines with a lightweight six-speed manual shifter which transfers power through the special Ford-tuned Torsen system. It gives the car the ability to now speed up to 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Price and release date

The full version of the 2017 Mustang GT500 is going to cost you somewhere around $63,495. The release date is not officially released yet but some indications tell us that it might be out by the middle of next year. As it has been offered as a 2017 model we do not think that it can be ready for the beginning but the middle of the year is something much more believable.
