With its recently updated handling and cabin quality, the new Toyota Camry for 2017 is a competitive and compelling midsize sedan. Highlights for 2017 include an excellent V6 engine, a spacious and comfortable interior, excellent visibility, user-friendly interior controls, and distinct sport and luxury trim. New add-ons include exclusive items such as a sportier gauge cluster, smoked taillights, blue interior accents, and a Special Edition model. The 2017 Toyota Camry continues with is impressive best-selling attribute due to its careful balancing act without abandoning its roots.
With nimble, high performance, aggressively designed rivals stocking it, the Camry – Toyota’s popular family sedan, debuts with a sleeker body, and a sport tuned taut suspension system. And still, it has not left out its traditional attributes like hushed, buttery ride, and an ergonomic control layout.
For 2017, Toyota has introduced a new Special Edition trim model that is expected to maintain the momentum from last year’s redesign. The trim comes with flashy 18” wheels, vibrant blue interior trim, sport-tuned suspension system, and smoked taillights. Other trims available are the LE and XLE that don’t come with the tuner-inspired styling flourishes and performance as the Special Edition.

Exterior Changes & Interior Pictures – 2017 Toyota Camry
The new 2017 Toyota Camry is available in a walloping five trims and in a five-seat passenger configuration. As for the 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid, expect its separate review soon.
The equipment list for the base 2017 Toyota Camry LE include keyless entry and ignition, Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, automatic headlights, an auxiliary audio jack, an 8-way power driver seat, heated mirrors, a six-speaker sound system, 16” alloy wheels, iPod/USB interface, voice controls, Entune touchscreen interface, cloth upholstery, driver power lumbar, and Siri Eyes Free.
Building upon the LE’s equipment list is the 2017 Toyota Camry SE, which comes equipped with a 4.2” touchscreen interface, 17” alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a sport-tuned suspension system, synthetic leather and cloth upholstery, sport-themed interior and exterior trim elements, and paddle shifters.
Also available is the Entune Audio Plus package that comes as an option on both the SE and LE trims and includes an optional sunroof, a satellite radio, and an upgraded 7” touchscreen interface.
The 2017 Toyota Camry Special Edition should be expected to come standard with unique gauges, smoked taillights, a sunroof, 18” wheels, Qi wireless smartphone charging, hands-free trunk opening, and contrast stitching and seat inserts.
Opting for the 2017 Toyota Camry XSE will get you 18” wheels, sport-tuned suspension system, four-way power passenger seat, automatic climate control, synthetic suede and leather upholstery, keyless ignition and entry, a wireless phone charger, heated front seats, a sunroof, and LED running lights.
Additionally, both the XSE and SE will have an option of adding the Convenience package, which bundles an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless ignition and entry, and a hands-free trunk opening.
It is imperative to not that the V6-powered versions of both the XLE and XSE get additional standard features plus touchscreen interface with split-screen capability, a wireless smartphone charger, LED headlights, a navigation system, a noise-reducing windshield, and exterior heated mirrors.
2017 Toyota Camry Engine Specs
Producing 178 horsepower and 170 pounds of torque is a 2.5L four-cyl engine. The 2017 Toyota Camry comes with standard six-speed auto transmission and a FWD systems.
During our own performance testing, the LE was able to sprint to 60 mph in just 8.3 seconds.
A 3.5L V6 good for 268 horsepower and 248 pounds of torque powers both the XLE and XSE. In our testing, the XLE V6 dashed to 60 mph from standstill in 6.2 seconds.
As per the EPA estimates, expect 25/35/28 mpg for the four-cyl-equipped Camry. The V6, on the other hand, returns 21/31/25 mpg.

The new 2017 Toyota Camry LE changes will set you back by an MSRP starting from $23,070, and up to $26,310 for the top-of-the-line XLE.
