2017 Toyota Land Cruiser Review

The newest 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser has been getting some attention recently. As we are in the wake if its release date it was pretty suitable to present a review about it and give you something to look forward about the car. And in fact there  is plenty to look forward to as the designers from Toyota did a great job by mainly basing its design on their youth brand Scion and using it for the Land Cruiser model. There is another interesting thing which also makes a lot of people happy, particularly as they do not have to make a choice. The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser is going to come only as one trim options, so you get all the equipment and amenities that would be separated across different trim levels in one car this time.

Since its inception, the Toyota Land Cruiser model has always been a vehicle which offered immense off-road capability. The car that we have seen for the first time in 1957 has gone though a lot since then and has changed into a luxury flagship vehicle with leather and comfy amenities everywhere. The newest model is still keeping to the modern feel of the car and does that by introducing updates for the interior and exterior of the car, particularly by updating the cabin.

The update is going to be featured under the hood as well as the newest car gets matted with a new eight-speed automatic transmission system which is going to be combined with the old engine that carries over from the previous car. There are also plentiful features that account for the stability and maneuverability of the car which are going to influence its balance and driving capabilities. The interior still has the spacing to include 8 passengers and has enough interior comfort to help you feel great during any kind of a ride.

There are some interesting changes brought to the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser. In fact, the car keeps the macho appearance that we have been used to from before and expands on it by bringing in an update. The most obvious changes are the ones done to the front fenders and the hood grille design while in the back the rear tailgate has received some redesigned cues.

The front end of the car has a new three-bar grille which is extended into the LED headlights. There are two power bulges added to the hood which give the added powerful appearance for the latest Land Cruiser. The front fenders keep the flat sides from before while the non-existent flairs have also been retained.

The rear end features a full-width chrome piece matted to the back of the car which extends all the way into the LED taillights. The roof rails are a standard addition here and give you even more cargo capacity if the one inside is not enough. The model comes with  large 285/60R18 tires and there is even a full size spare one added to the back as well.

The interior of the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser takes things to a whole new level as it includes an even more posh appearance on its inside. The aesthetic are even close to the ones seen in the Range Rover model as with a new all-black interior come different and interesting new color patterns. Optional choices include Terra leather seats and saddle brown floor adds which can add a bit of a warm feeling once you get in the cabin. With the Terra seats you can opt of  black leather seats and wood trim and chrome accents making the interior even more exclusive.

The dashboard design has a similar look compared to the one that we already have and receives such updates as an all-new steering wheel, accented wood pieces and an 9-inch infotainment display which has Toyota’s latest Entune system in the middle of its center stack. Below we have a gated shifter which has two main dials and several buttons. The  Multi-terrain Select and Crawl Control  uses knobs to control it while the  traction control, hill decent control and center differential lock is controlled using buttons.

The entertainment for people in the back is provided by dual 11.6-inch monitors which you get in the back of the front seats and there is even a total of 28 air vents added to the back which lets the people in the rear feel cool and relaxed. The second row of seats also adds 4.1 inches more which helps it accommodate the passengers in the back better.

Engine specs

When it comes to the engine choice for the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser, they are not planning of making any changes which are going to result in too much of modifications. They are still keeping the same kind of engine provided before as it is still a good choice for the setup of the car. The engine in question is of course the 5.7-liter V-8 engine which makes 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. What is also important about it is that it provides  torque curve peaks at just 3,600 rpm, with 90 percent of torque available at just 2,200 rpm. Of course the model comes with a full AWD system but the change is that it is going to replace the latest transmission in favor of a different and new one. A new close-ratio eight-speed automatic transmission is what you get now and it is useful as it improves the fuel economy of the car. The EPA ratings now stand at 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

This is certainly going to be one of the more popular SUVs on the market as the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser’s setup has toppled a lot of the competition.
