The latest 2017 Volkswagen Jetta is set to make its official unveiling and first appearance at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. It seems that the designers from Volkswagen had the impression that the additions that they have made are more than enough to keep their prized model as competitive for the upcoming period the same as it was till now. We do not think that they have done just as much as yet to keep the car afloat, but it is still going to be a popular choices among many.

The 2017 Volkswagen Jetta is a very versatile model and it provides a lot of abilities and many different engine choices with the base and the diesel orientated TDI trim. And if you want a power boost that goes well beyond 200 hp, there is also the GLI version which is the most powerful Jetta model of them all.

Exterior update

The exterior appearance of the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta has changed so little that you would not notice the difference between this and the last model on fist glace. You will have to make a closer look in order to really see the subtle details and changes done to the model which are mostly limited to minor tweaks here and there.

The most noticeable changes are done for the aerodynamics of the car and are seen on the front fascia of the car and the trunk lid as well. You can also see some modifications made to the sill covers are also on tap. There is going to be a large air inlet for the 2017 Jetta and some re-sculpted fog lights  which are placed in the outer parts of the bumper. The main profit was to decrease the aerodynamic drag for the body of the car and it appears that they have managed to do it for the most part.

The side lines of the trunk lid run all the way down and is actually one of the more noticeable changes that are made to the newest Jetta model. There is going to be a new headlights setup as well which sees the added xenon headlights with LED running lights, that are now arranged in an  L-shaped string. You can find the LEDs in the taillights of the GLI and Hybrid models as well.

Interior setup

The interior upgrades of the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu are also going to be very subtle. Generally speaking the overall look is very much the same as before and you will rarely notice the difference that were made but the modifications are going to be more apartment for the mid-and high-level trims. These include dash gauges framed in chrome-edged tubes and an available  color multifunction display placed in between.

There is also going to be a new multifunction steering wheel added as well which adds a new button layout and different kinds of controls. We can see the newly made piano black accents on the center console which you can also see on  the docket. The model adds a Blind Spot Detection, improving driver awareness and a  rear cross-traffic alert assistance which complements the Blind Spot Detection system which is going to help with the stationary and moving vehicles directly behind the vehicle.

Engine variety

One of the facts that truly goes in the favor of the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu is that it does comes with a variety of engine choices. The base is still going to be the 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, but the modifications is made with the addition of the 2.0-liter TDI engine  which makes 140 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, but also produces an EPA rating of 45 mpg on the highway. The third engine option which is available for the GLI trim is the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine which enables the range topping performance of 210 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque.
